The best action is choreography and clarity. A great set piece tells you exactly where everyone is and what is at stake, so the chaos reads as thrilling instead of confusing. The worst action is just noise — motion with no geography, spectacle with no stakes.

Use it for: the big-screen loud evening, the franchise marathon, the fight scene you rewind. Don't expect it for: deep character work — action gives you archetypes and momentum, and that is a feature, not a bug.
