Netflix
The service people mean when they say "streaming".
Netflix is the default answer, and for a lot of households the only answer they pay for. Its catalogue is built around one thing it does better than anyone: originals you have heard of. Stranger Things, Squid Game, The Crown, Beef — the list of shows that entered the culture through Netflix is longer than any competitor's.
What that means for browsing: Netflix is strongest when you want a *new* show, not a specific old film. Its film library is real but rotates hard — movies arrive and leave monthly, and the deep catalogue lives on rival services now that every studio pulled its own content back.
Use it for: a buzzy new series, a well-funded documentary, or a film that released on Netflix directly. Don't expect it for: classic-film depth, or anything a rival studio hoards for its own platform.
The subscription tiers (with ads, standard, premium) differ only in resolution and how many screens stream at once, not in what you can watch.
