Tubi is the most underrated service in streaming. It's free, funded by ads, and its catalogue is far deeper than "free service" would suggest — tens of thousands of films and shows, skewed toward older titles, genre films, cult classics, and B-movies that the paid services dropped years ago.
This is not a replacement for Netflix. It's a supplement with a specific pleasure: the idle browse that turns up something you didn't know you wanted — a forgotten 80s thriller, a strange 70s horror, a documentary about a subculture you'd never have searched for.
Use it for: free discovery, genre deep-dives, and watching a specific older film without paying to rent it. Don't expect it for: new releases, marquee originals, or a clean 4K experience — ads interrupt, and the newest content isn't here.
For the price, nothing else comes close.
